This page explains what is stored on your device when you visit this website. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

This website does not use cookies

We set no cookies. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes, and we do not build a profile of your individual browsing. Because nothing that requires consent under UK law is stored on your device, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

We do use a cookie-free traffic analytics service, covered under “Website analytics” below, and videos embedded on some product pages are the one case where a third party may store something on your device — but only if you deliberately choose to play one, covered under “Embedded videos” below.

What is stored on your device

UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) applies not only to cookies but to any storage on your device, including browser local storage. For completeness, the following may be stored:

The theme preference is only stored if you actively use the light/dark toggle. It contains nothing but the word light or dark, does not identify you, and is never transmitted to us or shared with anyone. If you never touch the toggle, nothing is stored and the site simply follows the appearance setting of your device.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which pages they look at, and how quickly pages load. It is provided by Cloudflare, Inc., the same company that already delivers this website to your browser.

Unlike most analytics services, it stores nothing on your device — no cookie, no local storage entry, nothing to clear or opt out of on your end. We only ever see the aggregate figures it produces (visits, page views, load times, and broad location by country), not anything that identifies you individually. This is described in full in section 5.3 of our Privacy Policy.

Third-party content on our Contact page

Our Contact page displays a map. The map imagery is requested by your browser directly from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, and in dark mode from CARTO, which means those providers receive your IP address in order to return the imagery. This is described in full in section 5.1 of our Privacy Policy. No map is loaded on any other page.

Embedded videos

Some product pages include a video hosted on YouTube, a service provided by Google LLC. The video does not load when you open the page. What you see is a placeholder with a play button, served entirely from our own site, and nothing at all is requested from Google unless you press it.

If you do press play, the video is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, Google’s privacy-enhanced embed mode, which does not set Google’s usual advertising and profiling cookies. Google will nonetheless receive your IP address in order to deliver the video, and may store items on your device relating to playback. This is described in full in section 5.2 of our Privacy Policy.

Because a video is only ever loaded in response to a deliberate action on your part, reading a page that contains one stores nothing on your device and sends no request to Google.

Managing what is stored

You can clear or block this storage at any time through your browser settings. Clearing it has no effect other than resetting the site to your device’s default light or dark appearance.
